so, good job, Ash, getting that guy to surrender.

what about utah? maybe the mormons will scare all the good copy editors away and they'll be willing to give ME a job. it's so disheartening being blown off by these places. i almost hate to put myself through it again.

teaching, actually, is not all that bad. it would be better if i had any time to prepare. but when i am prepared, i get a real rush after the class is finished and people have participated.

there can be little more surreal in this world than waking up to the sound of Johnny Cash singing Nine Inch Nails.

there's an original fucking idea for a features story: how women (specifically) can lose weight.

Oct. 12th, 2002 09:20 pm and by the way, Laura Dennis, it's supposEDly...

It's such a good feeling knowing I'm doing my best to steer talented people away from the OA. Of course, it really IS for their own good.
Sigh.. and I'm so not a bitter person. :)

This week was much better. Partly because a couple other people have told me that one of the people on my desk is the "hardest person in the building to work with," and is accustomed to "spending 70 percent of his time surfing the internet." At least i know it's not just the way I do things that's causing problems. the other person, apparently, did feel passed over as far as my position. It WAS a really shitty way for my boss to do things. But that person has lightened up somewhat this week.

Rick, apparently you haven't been reading what poison kitchen has to say about Florida Today. I'd steer clear of Gannett, myself.

apparently the fact that i draw my dummies in pen, which involves scribbling, is "condescending."

Gee, maybe if I were as lovely and talented as Laura Black, MY partner would only have turned to sucking off other men in my children's bedroom, instead of taking drugs. *sigh*
Maybe if I took a little more interest in NASCAR...

one of jimi hendrix's lesser known tunes... "Passive Agression" (to the tune of "Manic Depression," of course...)
